I loved the food here. Lunch is great value. Lobster ravioli was sooooo good. I'm not sure what it was but the service was a little disappointing. They failed to check up on me after they took my order. When my beer was empty, I had to look around and call another server to get attention. Nobody asked how my food was during my meal. Usually you're supposed to ask after the first bite. Would've given 5 stars if the service was good.

For most, this would rate 5 stars. I was greeted upon entering, seated promptly, given capable and hospitable service, and the food was absolutely delicious! I, however, use a power wheelchair, and as such, I greatly appreciate it when an establishment has buttons for opening the door mechanically; this restaurant lacked that. That said, the door was not difficult to open with a bit of hand swap trickery, and once inside every accommodation possible was volunteered and given. I'll most definitely return!

Taverna has a great atmosphere. They are newly renovated. The menu is mostly in Italian so prepare to ask your waiter/waitress to clarify things or take your phone out to translate or look up the meal options, though all food has an explanation of what is inside. Most meals are under 20$, a good portion being less than 10$ (or around that) which is good value. Note, some portions are on the smaller side for the price, specifically the Lobster Ravioli but it's amazing and so worth it! I've only been here twice so far but both times the experience was a good one. Fast service, fast food delivery, not super loud, good quality for the price and plenty of options to choose from. Overall, I would recommend checking this place out if you ever looking for an option downtown.

Waiter, Tony, was very knowledgeable and helpful in teaching us more about the culture. Great food, atmosphere and service. Friendly and prompt. Enjoyable date spot.

Speaking as an Italian-Canadian, I would take my nonna here, if only she were not so conservative about spending money! The portions are generous without compromising quality. I recommend booking a table in advance, though it is not uncommon to find the place sparse during the pre-rush hours.
