Dwyer's Crab and Fish Company Restaurant

My wife was out for dinner at Dwyer's last night with family and friends. Lucky for me she had some baby reds, asparagus and halibut left over. I had the leftovers for lunch today. WOW! It was "like the best halibut I've ever tasted". Live music and dancing too at Dwyer's.

Eating a King Crab leg and claw while in Alaska us truly an experience. Thanks to Dwyer for making this a reality. They close late too!!! Let the tourists do their thing. Then after all the hullabaloo is gone, go to Dwyer's!

Has great service, beautiful view out look of the ocean. There crab and fish is to die for. Don't Miss Out.

Nice decor. Friendly staff. The food was just ok, nothing special. Had the clam chowder in a bread bowl. Just ok. My aunt had the fish and it was on the dry side.

Very upsetting experience today. I’m a foodie so I will pay good money for good food and good service but this place is an all around joke. The atmosphere itself and the set up of the restaurant is fresh and very appealing. Unfortunately everything else was terrible. I will be here for the next 3 years and I will not be returning to Dweyers. I would not reccommend anyone getting off the cruise ships to eat here either. Our server did not greet us, and simply just asked us what she could do for us. Our appetizer and salads never came out and instead came out all together with our meals which was also a nightmare. The coconut prawn tacos were literally nothing but dough and cheese that I paid $17.99 for, literally. The 4 pieces of coconut prawns I was served was not at all a decent portion to make up a taco. I understand the circumstances with seafood out here in Alaska but the tacos should of consisted of something else such as beans or maybe the owner should think about switching to smaller tortillas because the tacos being prepared end up being a complete waste. I did not try the other tacos so it could just be that the coconut prawn tacos are a disaster and the others listed actually fill up the tortilla. After I had eaten my coconut prawns I realized I was not served my chips and salsa which wasn’t a shocker because the food wasn’t set up properly to begin with. It seems like the servers are also in charge of the expo window which in this case is another big swing and miss. Our server, besides the dull and unprofessional greeting was not attentive at all. We spoke to her maybe twice through out our whole meal. Nobody asked us how everything came out and tasted, our server did not refill our drinks, and she as well took almost 15 minutes once we were done eating to recieve our check. The dining area was not at all busy there were only about 6 tables including us, with two servers. Which brings me to my next concern. When our food was ran we noticed the young man that ran our food could not stop touching his hair. He kept brushing his hair back with his hands over and over again. After several times I realized he wasn’t washing his hands. This is a HUGE safety hazard. His hair looked like it contained numerous amounts of hair products and good day worth of sweat and to know he kept touching his hair, and then our food, and then other people’s food was appalling. I can see why this place is not open year round and I’m glad to know now I am not missing one thing. I feel sorry for the tourists this place rips off. As someone who has worked in the service industry for several years I don’t write negative reviews, but this place needs to get it together and hopefully someone sees this review and whips that staff into shape!
