Had an amazing time here!!! Wife bordered half rack and it tasted amazing. The owner cones out with another half rack in his hands and gives it to us for free. He knew the first rack wasn't perfect (still delicious) and made it happen. I will always stop by here on my adventures. Life long customer.

Some of the food is very good, like the brisket and pulled pork, potato salad, sandwiches, etc. Some is so-so like the pulled pork. I've had their ribs and they are hit or miss, they're good fresh, not so good reheated the next day. Beans are a bit bland for my taste. Sauce is a bit bland for my personal taste, I prefer sweet and spicy with more of a kick, but overall it's not bad. Prices are about average for BBQ, large portions make it a good value. Down Home is a good local business run by good folks, so stop in and give them a try. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.

The pulled pork was delicious, as was the mac and cheese... The coleslaw, however, was a bit odd as it had sugar on it... I didn't end up finishing it because I didn't like it. Those I was traveling with had the pulled pork sandwich, the catfish, the loaded baked potato, and many of the sides. They all enjoyed their food quite a bit. The restaurant itself was very cold. We sat near few heaters they had. It's a hole in the wall kind of place... Not cozy, but decent place to visit. Certainly a casual dining experience... You order at the counter, pay, and then they call out to the order type and you go up and get it. It's pretty good BBQ overall.

Best meal I've had out this way. Of course, I'm partial to BBQ but still, it ranks among the best I've had, anywhere. It can be a little pricey for lunch but we'll worth if you're craving some outstanding BBQ. Be sure to try their sweet tea! The money pig is kind of a random decoration but he's charming... I had to take a pic 🤣

I was told this place was excellent, so my wife and I ventured down to find out for ourselves. This night there was an Hispanic fellow there manning the BBQ. Honestly I was expecting a big black dude named bubba; we placed our order & surprised again this guy starting cooking and not heating up in some microwave. The portions were very sizable, the wait was far less than I expected and the food was amazing!!! My wife and I have been back 3 times since then and each tine we have not been disappointed. We returned once during the day and the owners sister was back there w/ a couple of other cooks and we had to let her know about the awesomeness of their Hispanic gem along with the rest of their staff. Keep up the good work you have very happy customers.
