The food was good, but the service was horrible. The hostess that took us to our table was nice. After we were seated we waited approximately 20 minutes for our waiter to acknowledge we were there. Once he came we knew what we wanted to order, so we gave our drink order and then food order. About 15 minutes later he brought my son and I our salads. At this point he has not brought any of us (party of 4) drinks or any biscuits. We both finish our salads and wait about another 15 minutes ( during this time we are looking around and see that every other table has drinks and biscuits) our waiter brings our food out. He doesn't wait around to ask if everything looks good our we need anything. My husband and daughter begin eating. At this point we have been here about an hour, we flag down the hostess bringing someone else to their table ( because who knows where our waiter has gone) and ask if we can speak to a manager. The manager comes and ask what he can help us with, we show him that half of our dinner has been ate and we still have no drinks. He apologizes and make sure we get some drinks. So my son and I begin to eat our meals. Our waiter did not come back and fill our drinks until the manager had walked back by and asked if we needed refills. By the end of our meal we still had never recieved any biscuits (those of you who have never at here, biscuits come complimentary with every meal as an appetizer). My husband did ask to speak to someone over the manager we had previously spoke to. Another gentleman came and spoke with my husband. After my husband explained how horrible the service was, this gentleman said he would make adjustments for us and would address the waiter. Now beyond all of the awful service, all 4 of our meals were delicious. We had country fried steak with mashed potatoes, green beans, and side salad; meatloaf with fried okra, mashed potatoes, and green beans; fried shrimp with hushpuppies, mashed potatoes, green beans, and steamed broccoli; and kids grill cheese with side salad. The food has that southern home cooked flavor. You will love the food, just not the service.

It's a nice enough place on the surface but it's like a tourist trap inside with a gift shop being the first thing you see inside. I ordered chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes when I went there. The country gravy was bland and flavorless, tasting more like flour than gravy. The potatoes were so full of lumps I should have just ordered fries. They were terrible. And the steak was very bland and far too tenderized because it practically fell apart on the plate and the breading over the steak was a single solid piece that came off of the meat so easily it put me off my appetite. Do yourself a favor and just go eat at Denny's. The food is 1000x better and you won't have chunky mashed potatoes.

I love this place. Every time we travel which is every year we stop here. After traveling for weeks living up junk. This is like a good home cooked meal.

Food was great. My son and I got the grilled sirloin house salad and baked potato. Sirloin was tender salad was fresh and potato was just right. Friendly employees.

Cornbread was burnt, chicken fried chicken was so hard I couldn't eat it. Lake of flavor in the food other than the dirt you could taste on the skin of the mashed potatoes and normally they are really good.
