My husband and I are in Hot Springs celebrating our anniversary from Memphis, TN and googled "great restaurants" in the area. Phil's was the first to pop up, my husband read the short intro of information and we headed to the place for supper. As soon as we walked in, the atmosphere was so down home and comfy. It was very clean, and the smell of good ole southern cooking filled the air. As we sat down enjoying all the memoribilia the waitress gave us a bit of history. All and all, our visit was well worth it. The food was amazing! tasty, flavorful and big healthy portions. I even told the waitress that THIS is what we consider "soul" food. Kudos Phil. We thank you for your Godly heart of gold and the favor the Lord has given you to use your incredible gift of cooking, and the love you have for others. Many wonderful blessings. And we guarantee you that we will return. Sincerely, Pastor John and Yvonne Taylor

Very friendly staff. We didn't feel pushed at all. We ended up being there are whole two and a half hours just sitting in 15. The wait staff was very attentive and made sure we had everything that we needed.I had said something to my friend about getting a to-go box. It was overheard by one of the servers. The food incredible. I had a turkey club which was extremely tasty. The coffee was amazing and my cup was never empty. Great place to go!

We had high expectations after reading all the good reviews. However our experience left us wondering how this place got such high reviews. We arrived and the tables and floors were dirty and the restroom was dirty. I hope the kitchen is sanitized! The people working there and the older lady who waited us were super nice & wonderful! However, the food was so plain even the fries had no salt! I had the chicken fried steak and it had no flavor. My husband had the tilapia and it was a little burnt. The corn I had as the side tasted like out the ones from the cans. Even though they do serve you a lot I thought it would be better tasting.

Small place but great Southern style cooking. They use fresh never frozen beef and their burger are well seasoned! One of the best burgers I've had in awhile. We're probably going to come back to try out their breakfast tomorrow morning before we head out. Highly recommend

Do not come here if your not hungry and ready to put down some food. I'm not the sort to write reviews. But, I had the best chicken and dumplings of my life today. Then they bring a bowl of mashed potatoes and green beans that I could have ate on for a week. I showed up right at the shift from breakfast to lunch so I ordered bacon too.... It was like 6 or 8 peices.... my eyes, taste buds, and stomach are In Overload... if I am ever back In Hot Springs I will be back... I saw the size of the flap jacks being passed around and I laughed because they offer all you can eat breakfast. PHIL YOU ARE TOO MUCH SIR. WELL DONE!
