Seems like a family atmosphere that adds to the charm. I should have ordered the fried steak breakfast (yes for 2p local) but I went with the Turkey and Swiss with fries ... Still very good. My spouse had the suggested Main South with suggested potato salad "it was really good". There you go two reviews for the price of one. We both ate for less than $20 (not including tip). I regret not buying a shirt, but they were busy (we ate at the bar or 40 min for a table)

We went here seeking excellent biscuits and gravy (an odd favorite of my wife.) They were good. All the food was “good”, although hardly amazing. It is, after all, just a diner. Quaint, old-fashioned diner feel. I checked average wait times on Google so we were braced for a 15-30 minute wait. There ended up being one party in front of us, so it was only about 5 minutes. Then the real wait began. Keep in mind, this is my only visit so perhaps it was a onetime thing. Without exaggeration, it was an hour from the time we placed our order until we got our food. We were not the exception – other diners had similar experiences. We saw at least 3 diners send orders back because they were incorrect. Mine was a bit cold. Our server was certainly friendly but didn’t keep us informed of our order status. After a half hour we asked and she said they were a bit short staffed. I have since read other reviews and am led to believe this wasn't an isolated occurrence.

Eat delicious meals in Memphis' oldest cafe. The decor and atmosphere takes you on a trip through Memphis history. The food is outstanding. Breakfast served all day. Sandwiches, pizza and plates to please any appetite. Seating is tight and the staff is busy, so give yourself some time to enjoy the experience.

I love going to The Arcade. If you want a good diner breakfast or lunch, this is the place. It's got a great classic vibe but with some unique entrees (such as the sweet potato pancakes) and some new happening options too (like hard milkshakes). One of my favorite things is the tiny portion of dessert that comes with every plate lunch. Many of the staff have been working there longer than I've been going, and though it's often got some out-of-towners checking it out there are always plenty of locals and regulars as well.

Awesome breakfast at an historical sight. A must go when visiting Memphis. The food was delicious and the company joining me for breakfast was great. I love my wife's friends. Great people, great food, great restaurant, and awesome friends. It doesn't get any better. I'm ready to go back. They even sold us some t-shirts on our way out because the lady at the register was a sweet, helpful lady.
