We were just passing through and decided to go a little out of the way to try this place. We were not disappointed! It was the best BBQ I've had in awhile. The beans and slaw we're on point and the smoked ribs were just right. Highly recommend!

We stop here everytime we are in town and never disappoints us. Nachos, pork steak, or the ribs are the best. Also helps having some super nice servers

We jumped off the interstate looking for some authentic BBQ on our way back to Michigan and the Hog Pen was exactly what we were hoping for. Located on a lonesome stretch of farmland road, it's a bit of rustic americana with low prices for an awesome rack of ribs or pork steak with the fixings and a sweet tea. We came mid afternoon so it was deserted and quiet except for the Price is Right on TV which helped the retro feel. The waiter/cook was super courteous & friendly. Definitely well worth the short detour off I55!
