Awesome staff. Great atmosphere, and a sophisticated beverage program. The Wildflower was amazing. Thanks Angelica! Nibbles are also yummy. Who doesn't like fried artichokes with lemon aioli? Would love to go back some time and try more menu items. Sorry, no photos. I was too busy eating. 😉

This restaurant is more interested in filling its seats than treating its customers in a kind and respectful way. This evening, at 5:40, I was out buying my granddaughter a valentines gift and on my way home, I stopped in to get a bite to eat. The bar and one table were filled, so I asked if I could sit at one of the tables. I was told the unless I had a reservation, they were completely booked up. I walked around the corner, and out of interest, I called and asked if I could make a reservation for two for that evening. Oh yes, I am told, if you can come right now. Really, I asked, then why was I, as a single person, just turned away from your door! Much spluttering and denial. I was told that he had absolutely no memory of me. Whereupon, I said that he needed to say that to my face. This time I was greeted by the owner, who had a different story. They were completely booked, I must have misunderstood when I was told that if I came right now there would be room for two. When does "right now" become another night. Wow! I actually think that I was called a liar twice by the people at this business. As someone who dines out several times a week, alone or more often with family and friends, I would have welcomed a new neighborhood restaurant to enjoy. Instead, I will never go back. And, may I say that as I was leaving, I informed the owner that I would be writing a negative review, and his snippy reply was, "go ahead we're booked" If you want a lovely place to go to, where you are always welcomed with kindness and excellent food, go to Rivolli!

A great addition to the Albany dining scene, especially since the closure of Eugene. The menu, beer and wine list (including "by the glass"), cocktails, and service are great. Order several starters to share with your friends. The pasta dishes, tagliatelle this evening, are excellent. I had chicken with some of the best spatzle ever! Definitely get dessert with the wine pairings. We had one of each and they were all excellent! We phoned ahead on a Friday evening and they held a table for our group of five. Parking in the bank lot at the corner is free and unrestricted.

A wonderful experience. Decor and cocktails and food were exceptional. Oliver, our server, was so kind as was everyone on staff. This is a treat.

Juanita and Maude is a great addition to our little Albany neighborhood. They're still finding their footing a bit, with rapid evolution from the kitchen and bar programs alike. But what they have already is a nice mix of familiarity and innovation, all driven by seasonality. Chef Scott is producing great food at a reasonable price point, and the availability of a full bar means the possibility for some interesting cocktails. Currently their best drinks are riffs on standards, but I'm hoping they branch out a bit more (current menu attached). But if you like wine they already seem well-equipped. Meanwhile of the food, the poke, fried artichokes, and chowder were stand-outs, while the tater tots had promise but needed a bit more spice or acid. I stuck to appetizers this time around, but I'm told pastas are a must-try, so I'll definitely give them a taste on my next visit. The panna cotta was the real revelation though, at least for me as a big fan of the dessert. This one had that rarity of perfect texture, at once creamy and light, with a nice tart crunch from accompanying seasonal rhubarb, and a great textural contrast and nuttiness from a pistachio crumble. This was very satisfying. The interior is nicely appointed and a good mix of casual with just the right amount of upscale feel to be good for date night, etc. The bar being situated right next to the door is a bit non-ideal however, since you get a regular blast of cold air as people come and go. The bar seats also aren't particularly comfortable to lean back in, despite having seat backs which is not always to be found in bar seating. Nevertheless it's nice to have a first-come bar option and a full bar at that. I look forward to returning to try more of the ever-changing food and drink menu, and have hopes that the back patio will also open just in time for summer!
