Came here while staying for business. Great sushi and sake selection. Will come back next time I’m here. Staff was very friendly. Also the tables and atmosphere were beautiful!

We have been in Berkeley for several years now, and I am soooo glad that we discovered Akemi. They are hands down, the best Sushi place that I have been to (I have been to over 20 so far). The sashimi always tastes fresh and delicious and the pork belly appetizer is amazing. It can get pretty busy on weekend evenings so call ahead. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive and the food is excellent. Enjoy!

Great service, you walk in and it looks and feels modern but without feeling cheesey, the menus are simple yet full of great choices. The plates are big and very tasteful. I personally loved the Godzilla roll, highly suggested, but I still have not tried more than half of the menu to compare it to much, but I can tell you this sushi was much greater and tasted better than other restaurants I have been to. Loved it.

Delicious food. Wonderful atmosphere. Great place!

My salmon was charred and flavorless. I couldn't get into the green gyoza and the filling inside..not sure what kind of vegetarian filling it was. However, the place has a very nice atmosphere inside, and there was a really good solo musician playing jazz.
