I recently caught this place on a bad night, but then I realized that on most of the times I've visited this Rubio's location it was having a bad night. Do you live in Vallejo and have a craving for fish tacos on a nice weekend afternoon or evening? Before you leave your place, lower your expectations on how fast you think you're going to fill that craving because Rubio's Vallejo kitchen isn't up to the task of getting you food at a reasonable time (regardless of whether you called in your order or walked in). However, I can't really find too much fault in the food or the staff (which is why it's a 2-Star rating and not a 1-Star). The biggest problems with this restaurant are where it's located and it's size: This somewhat-popular chain is sitting in the middle of a heavy traffic area and the store they're in is not big enough to handle the many customers coming through it. It'd be like if In-N-Out Burger wanted to serve food from a tiny store in a busy mall and they take call in orders but no drive-in option (i.e. you're going to have a bad time in getting your food).

Friendly service and clean place. We ordered the 2 fish taco plate, chips and beans included. Food was good and made to order. It also came out in a timely manner. Would come here again.

The service today was absolutely awful. I waited over 40 minutes for 1 burrito, ordered to go. The meat was cold and burnt, the rice was hard. Quite frankly, it did not have the quality or taste that I am accustomed to receiving from Rubios. The self service bar was half empty and unclean. The only good thing was the young man at the register who was pleasant, quick and efficient. The line moved very fast, but the service in back was so bad that there was a restaurant full of unserved tables. There were many customers who waited just as long. One family even requested a refund. TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!

Food used to be better and everytime we go now, it's being run by a bunch of kids pumping out microwave quality "food" and mediocre service. Probably won't be back.
