The quality of meat and fresh produce are stellar. Everything fell flat. If your comparing this to a world class steakhouse this is not in that league. As you walk in this place, there are smokers and bbq pits on display for theater. I suspect they cook on gas grills for there was no smoky taste or wood flavor that you would expect from a fire pit. For a place that sells spices, the steak is not properly seasoned. When you ask for steak sauce they give you A1, a 2 dollar condiment for a 40 dollar steak. Epic fail.

Harris Ranch has been a stop for us on our road trips for years! We haven't stayed in the hotel, but have eaten at the restaurant, and always grab a sweet treat in the shop. It's such a picturesque place! Well designed, you almost feel like you're in another time. Cute gift shop. And super well maintained grounds!

Good alternative to the fast food places when you are on the road. Service was good but not excellent; the bussers did a great job while other front of house people seemed distracted. Our food was cooked properly to temperature, seasoned appealingly, and presented well. Oddly given the focus of the ranch, the marbling and flavor of the beef was as I would expect for USDA Choice, not exceptional. The building and grounds are beautiful and it isn't too hard to ignore the fragrance of the cow pies.

Worth the drive. Known for their beef fpr a reason. Love the atmosphere and food. My steak was great but so was the hamburger soup!! Great for lunch and dinner. Beautiful place to get away to. We made the trip here for our anniversary and it was wonderful. Very accommodating staff.

Great respite about midway on drive from SF to San Diego. Frequent choice on our drives - beef dishes are generally excellent. Have tried burgers, Cajun beef tips, steaks, steak quesadillas - all have been good. Mildly pricey, but good quality and well-trained, friendly staff. We recommend!
