What a great place and a true treasure for the city of Bakersfield. The food is good (and plenty of it). It is a traditional Basque style, meaning family style service, and NO MENU. you get what they are serving that day and it all very tasty. The atmosphere is both gracious and historic - and what makes it fun is to come with a group and pass all of the food around. Or come by yourself and make new friends. I have been eating here for 20 years, which in terms of the clientele is like yesterday. Some people have been eating here and now bring their grandkids (i know because we were with some!)

I have been going here my entire life. It is family style, so you get a different experience than most restaurants. Their food is amazing as well.

A James Beard award winning restaurant with unparalleled ambiance. Basque food served family style since the 1940s. A must try experience for any visitor to Bakersfield.

Always love this place! If you haven't tried this place for a Saturday lunch ... Go. Right at noon, from the bar area, you will be led to the dining area located by an adjacent hall to the back. The seating includes 3 long rows and tend to fill up quickly. There is only one main menu at each lunch and it varies from week to week so try this place often. On my last visit, we received soup and salad, which is dished out at every meal. Next we received beef Stroganoff followed by garlic pork chops and lots of fries. There is plenty of bread served up and the bar is in the next room. Great atmosphere and an ideal place to converse with complete strangers. This place is a must do of Bakersfield Basque restaurants.

Good atmosphere, Good service, Awesome people. The feel of a boarding house, was something I've only seen on TV, until I experienced Noriega's. Things you get: Food, Drink, And potential friendships.
