Old time fan of this place but the current incarnation is horrible on multiple levels. 1. Staff. Heavyset asian bartender on 5/12/18 2pm. So slow at making drinks. Bad attitude. Please give him a job away from customers. He may be the winner for the meanest rudest bartender. Attitude sucks but if you're going to have it you better at least be good at your job. 2. Drinks. Theyre trying to do mixology drinks but dont have a clue. Need to learn how to logistically setup the bar, have good recipes and the right staff (see 1). Painful watching them slowly sloppily pour a bunch of ingredients that didn't work. 3. Drinks. At least do the basics. Bloody Mary looked good but was a crazily salted mess. 2 had dramatically different alcohol content. 4. Basics. Napkins with the drinks or at least available or at least tell that heavyset dude to give them to customers when they ask. Dont put wierd stuff in basic drinks. Great location. Maybe go back to beer, wine and basic bar drinks. Please get a new manager.

Henry's finally reopened and I don't like it at all. It used to be pretty down to earth and decent bar food and a reasonable decor that was approachable and nice for students, adults and everyone. They've redone it with fancier white walls, somehow a tighter feeling space, more expensive food and less options. It feels uncomfortably fancy in there, no longer a place to come for a simple beer after work. We came as a larger group looking for some snacks and a beer and it has totally lost its charm. Such a shame that they decided to redo it this way.

This place has gone downhill since the recent management change and a new menu roll-out. For lunch and dinner there are just THREE entree options: porkchop, cheeseburger, and chicken sandwich - all of which are pricey due to their so-so quality. For $11 the cheeseburger was just okay and reminded me of something from a high school cafeteria - cheap looking sesame bun with whitish iceberg lettuce and a thin, somewhat dry beef patty. The drink / tap selection was decent but still a limited selection compared to other bars and restaurants around Berkeley. The service and staff were great but that's about it in terms of what's memorable about the new Henry's. There are much better options around the Southside / Telegraph area.

Great spot for a group of 10 of us to be able to talk and eat but also have a lively atmosphere. We went here before a show at the Greek theater, the location was perfect to park and walk to the show. The food was really good and we had a fair amount of drinks, came out to about $50pp. I will bring my own wine to open next time as their wine options are not very good. Everything else was great, including service. I highly recommend.

Henry's has reopened under new ownership. The menu is more limited than before with only five or six main selections including three burgers. My hoped-for skirt steak had been removed from the menu, so I ordered the kimchi burger. It arrived without kimchi or any sort of sauce -- not even mayonnaise. Just an inch-thick stack of lettuce. It was eventually fixed. Sides (such as fries) are an extra $5. Figure $35 for a burger, fries, beer, tax and tip. I plan to revisit in October or so to see if things have straightened out.
