Scottie and his staff were on point this evening. They immediately greeted us by name (the husband had made reservations) when we walked through the door. A table had already been set up for us along with two glasses of complimentary champagne (we were celebrating a belated Valentine's Day). The waitress, and I am so sorry I can't remember her name, was phenomenal. She was very attentive and polite. The food was delicious, especially the garlic bread and cordon bleu. As we we're getting ready to leave after a meal, or waitress was so kind and handed us our leftovers as she opened the door for us. Such a wonderful little restaurant, and a great staff. On a side note, it was wonderful to see the owner inside the restaurant greeting customers, helping at the tables, and also cooking in the kitchen. Bravo!

The chefs at Shutters had a meatloaf daily special when I visited, along with spinach and mashed potatoes. The meatloaf was one of the best that I've had in the bay area, and the ambience of the restaurant is unexpectedly exceptional. Relaxed and refined with candlelight, amazing food, and pretty decent wait staff. This little spot in a strip mall is a diamond in the rough, and should absolutely not be missed!

5 stars all around. Had a great dinner with my fiance and her parents. Beautiful ambiance and fresh locally grown food. A little pricey but definitely worth it.

I'm so sad tonight was such a disappointment. We went a year ago, and it was a 5 star experience. This time, the food was not nearly as good and dinner service was extremely slow. We sat there for 45 mins after we finished our appetizer as waiting for our main dishes to come out. Last year, I had the escargot appetizer, and it was the most amazing version of escargot I've ever had. This year, it tasted like cleaning fluid and rancid nuts. I had to send it back, and I NEVER send back dishes. It was just inedible. The duck breast was good and cooked perfectly, but the flavor combinations on the plate were poorly done. The black rice risotto had little flavor. The mushrooms were under cooked and didn't feel like a good part of the dish. And I'm a mega fan of mushroom risotto. But honestly, a frozen bag from Trader Joes tastes better. Unfortunately, tonight was such a turn off, I don't think we will be going back ever again. I'm so sad, last year was amazing. I have a deep love for French quizine. I don't know if management changed or just the chef, but this was no where near as good as it was a year ago.
