I love this cozy little place. The food is great, I usually have their chicken salad sandwich on focaccia bread, delicious every time. This last time, I sat the counter and loved watching the chefs do their thing, another reason to come here, they are making your food right in front of you. Be prepared to wait though, it is so small, usually very crowded even to pay and of course seating is limited but outside dining is always an option.

Alana's Cafe is the most delicious breakfast place in Burlingame. Every morsal is heaven in your mouth. The place reminds you of a cozy family visit. Be warned, the food can be too good. Expect a long wait! Keep your party really small and your wait time could be relatively short. Ahhh but once you bite into the food, it'll all be worth the wait!

We ordered a bunch of breakfast items on the menu. The pancakes were delicious, service was great and portions were hearty. Will definitely come back.

The California scramble is great for breakfast. The potatoes tasted great. Quick and attentive service when I visited. Great diner/place to grab a cup of coffee and a bite to eat.

Probably my favorite breakfast restaurant on the Peninsula. This was our 3rd or 4th visit. Food is consistently good, well prepared and flavorful. The Swedish pancakes are unlike anything by that name I have encountered: made with steel-cut oats which gives a nice texture, they seem to have a sourdough element as well and with the lingonberry sauce are not too sweet. Last time my wife had the Florentine scramble and a peach scone. Breakfast places often overcook eggs but not here, they were perfect. One has to walk through the kitchen to get to the restrooms, giving me an opportunity to vouch for the scones being house-made. The drip coffee is better than is served in many chain coffeehouses. There is usually a wait for a table, but this last time the actual wait was maybe half what they said to expect. Service is friendly and competent and pretty attentive for a bustling restaurant. The Burlingame location is quite cozy, whereas their Redwood City location is more spread out with more outdoor seating. I have eaten at and recommend both locations.
