We love this cafe! Excellent food, very pleasant and friendly staff. We have a timeshare nearby and have breakfast here every day. You will not be disappointed!

Must have been the wrong day. Seems like tourists not locals go here. Tuesday, May 1. We were seated outside by the gas heater, but the heater went out and it took them 10 minutes to restart. It took 10 minutes to get the waitress/waiters attention just for coffee. Pancakes were tough and had to be returned- eggs-Benedict’s eggs were over cooked so that they had a hard yoke. I wouldn’t recommend, but perhaps it was a bad day all around.

Food was gross. Clam Chowder was thick like wall paper paste and glue. Mr. ordered breakfast burrito and potatoes were undercooked, however he said the spices on them were nice. Actual burrito was similar in taste to frozen one. Café was burnt tasting but the foam was beautifully done. Overall very run down and grungy atmosphere with sticky gross menus. Bright spot was the staff was nice, but the waitress never came back to check on us once we got our food. Parking lot is small.

I drive all the way from Mission Valley in San Diego to eat at Daily News Cafe. First, the breakfast meals are always deliciously prepared just like I want. From robust coffees, selection of teas, fresh breads I am always pleased. Now include the friendly staff, out front parking and vacation-like environment, the Daily News Cafe gets my best vote every time.
