What a great spot! I came with coworkers for lunch, expecting a normal lunch restaurant, but found a high-end place that doesn't skimp on a thing. The view is great, the service was excellent and the food was amazing. I had a chicken entree with a little idea and some veggies that might be the best lunch I've had in a very long time.

I have been there twice and if rating only on today's visit it would be 3 stars but because my first visit was good I am giving it 4 stars. The view is excellent. Just across the street from the beach. My meal was good. My husband's burger was not cooked to order (medium rare at most when he ordered medium). He told the waiter who without prompting had the kitchen make another. However, that burger again was way under cooked and when they brought it out it was literally just the patty on a plate. He had ordered it with no bun originally but instead of re-plating the meal they brought a patty on a plate only. The manager came to speak with us and without prompting removed the burger from the bill. We would go again to give it another try. My meal was one of their Sunday brunch omlettes.

Pretty high end, don't look like a scrub walking in here. Fancy bread. Fancy pasta. I got something with scallops and they were dank. Bring you're wallet cause stuff is not cheap but the portions I think reflect the price. I think I'd come back here on a nice occasion.

Great sunset views and good food and service. Nice heated outdoor patio overlooking the ocean. Food is very expensive here even by CA standards and very good but not as exceptional as the prices lead you to believe. ie. 2c serving of wild mushroom and short rib risotto-$40. Short rib was only a few small pieces of meat mixed in the risotto. While it was very tasty and served piping hot and with nice presentation, not worth $40. It was a nightly special and I should have asked the price before hand as I wouldn’t have ordered a risotto at that price. But service is attentive without being overbearing, my husband’s steak was very good and did not cost much more than my risotto, the bread and olive oil are fresh and flavorful and they have good bottles of wine ranging from $36-$1100 depending on your income level. :). And the view at sunset is spectacular. Great place for a special occasion but remember to ask prices on the specials even if you think it will be one of the less expensive dishes based on years of culinary experience. Ha. Oh, their open table reservations don’t always work, so call and confirm as they are very busy every night and in all seasons. Valet parking is required unless you can find street parking up the hill and is $6 but you can add it to your restaurant bill if you don’t have cash.

We chose to come here when we read the reviews. We soon realized that we were a little too casual for a Saturday night. The valet service told us it was wise to have a reservation but to try anyway. We did. Very obvious that we were under dressed, but we were made to feel welcome. We sat in the bar area and the service was quick, and friendly. We all had one of the very best meals that any of us had in Carsbad. We will most definitely be back.
