Friday evening- less than 2minute wait time for a table, quick to serve, bring drinks, followed up quick once we chose our meals. Accomidations made to plate(much appreciated) many check ups, filling up of drinks, and following up with how's everything, more drinks any desserts and so on. I was pleased, it was the sprinkles on the cake to my awesome day. Thank you very much. Come here on average 15to 20 times a year. 👍

We drove all the way to Madera to have Black Bear Diner since it was my first time. My boyfriend said that he used to frequent the first location near Mount Shasta when they first opened. I ordered the vegetarian taco salad. They subbed the meat for a chopped veggie gardein Patty for me. The salad was very fresh and the flavor was amazing. My mouth still waters just thinking about the food...🤤

If you want alot of food, yet not compromise the taste, this is the place!! Excellent friendly service. The options are many!!! Breakfast, lunch, and dinner served all day. I LOVE The breakfast specials, the Oriental Chicken Salad (served with cabbage), and the Tuna Melt on rye bread. Very chill environment.

Nice family-friendly restaurant with generous meals and pleasant waitstaff. Warm atmosphere and homey food. The menu is extensive so there is something to appeal to everyone.

I have been here 3 times this week and will go one more time before I leave. It is convenient that they are right next door to my hotel. So far, I had the Big Grizz, Moms Meatloaf, and the Bob's Big Bear hamburger. I never went home hungry any night I ate here. The pancakes were some of the best I have ever eaten. The meatloaf was inedible and drowned in gravy (I mean carrots? Who puts carrots in meatloaf?) But, the mashed potatoes were very good and the veggies were delicious. The burger had too much bread vs meat so ate just the burger. If you do visit, make sure you get a bear claw your way out for dessert!
