Food is mediocre. Service horribly slow. I honestly do not understand why people waste their time wating to eat here. There are a ton of authentic Mexican food in Chula Vista, best to go elsewhere. Maybe Sunset Breakfast & Lunch diner a block north. The owner is also always walking around with an attitude. The waitress' are walking around like chickens with heads cut off, almost as if purposely trying not to serve. Also, just a tip. If you come, try and order at the time they ask for your drink order, or you'll be waiting am eternity.

The chilaquiles here are fantastic! We visited for brunch and the place was packed--for good reason! Delicious authentic food with a large menu to choose from was provided, along with several great drink options (we tried mimosas, horchata, and hot chocolate). The portions were generous and the food was flavorful.

My boyfriend knew almost immediately after we were called that this was not going to be our new local spot. The host called our name and then disappeared into the restaurant and we had to look around to spot him. The service continued to dissapoint when we wouldn't get our refills. The food was not very flavorful; I ordered a tamarindo tea and the chilaquiles with mole sauce and it was all very bland (looked and tasted like tortilla chips w/sauce) . My boyfriend and I shared a corn tamale that was too sweet. He ordered coffee de la olla (from a pot) and it was also too sweet. He liked his panella omelet but said it was nothing special and only came with 2 tortillas : ( The last straw was when I went to eat the refried beans that came with the chilaquiles and they had chorizo in them. I told the waitress if the menu mentioned they had chorizo (I don't eat pork) and just said rudely that the menu mentioned it, I looked at it again before leaving and it is mentioned at the very bottom on the menu. It would have been nice if there was an asterisk next to the refried beans that would help refer me to the info at the bottom of the menu. Overall really unimpressed and expected better flavors and service from this place. Not authentic Mexican. Cucina 35 in downtown is way better, too bad it's kinda far for me.
