Great little find that is an easy walk from the Metro station. Friendly people and OFF THE HOOK baked goods! The coconut pineapple cake is worth going out of your way for. I'm sorry we weren't hungry enough to order a meal because it looked and smelled fantastic. We were visiting from out of town and were a little concerned about walking around Compton but met a couple of nice local people that made us feel safe and welcome. We look forward to coming back to Alma's.

Pork chop was great, nice thick chop, fried just right. Served with Mac & Cheese and a cornbread muffin plus a drink. Now that's what I consider a good lunch. I'm a returning customer because the service, food and let not leave off the wonderful deserts.

I came hoping for the best soul food in Compton. What I got was the best soul food in the world. I would seriously recommend the fried shrimp. They are more like lobsters. I will definitely be returning. Alma is a lovely woman.

Delicious food. I had the porkchop, yams, red beans and rice, and the corn muffin. All were exemplary. I lived in Memphis for many years and this is some of the best soul food I've ever had. Congratulations on such a great restaurant. I'll be back tomorrow.
