I came here as I was trying to find something to eat since I hadn't eaten all day. I had the 14oz steak with asparagus. The service was kind of okay, but didn't match the price of the meal. Very pricey steak, 3 stalks of asparagus (was expecting a few more pieces for the price). The steak was cooked as requested. I don't think I'd return.

Very odd combination of fish (halibut) served on a bed of beans and chopped ham in a heavy sauce that would've been better on a hot dog. I was expecting something light and savory to go with the what I expected the halibut to be, but it missed on both points. The wife had salmon which also was served on a bed of something in a very heavy, earthy sauce. Again, a very odd combination. The staff were perfectly fine, but I felt embarrassed for them to be serving such sub-par meals. However, the appetizer of goat cheese was pretty amazing, so some preparer in the kitchen knew what they were doing. I don't ever rate, but felt that I had to give my two cents' worth.

Service if you're not at the bar sitting in front of the bartender is pretty awful. You can sit for a long time without seeing a server and if you go find one yourself they still won't make an effort to actually come take an order. They'll acknowledge your request and continue to huddle in their chat-pack. Pretty disappointing for any service establishment, even worse at a resort. They only get 2 stars because the location is great and there are worse places to sit and wait for service.

Food was ok nothing special, we had better. Really nice view. Waiters are nice. Though our food came after 40 minutes from the time we ordered.

I came to Sheerwater via recommendation. The food here is amazing. We ordered mussels w/ garlic bread (highly recommend) and half dozen oysters for appetizers. For entree we ordered scallops (amazing!!!) and salmon (it’s good but not phenomenal). For dessert, we shared the double chocolate cake (recommended by our server and it’s very good). We sat outside and our server, Kecia, is super sweet with a beautiful smile. She has a signature eye makeup (black eyeliner and gold eyeshadow)...looks amazing! I would definitely come back here when I visit San Diego again.
