I went to Coronado to enjoy a nice day and enjoy lunch with family members that were visiting from out of town. We were seated right away as the place was not super busy and there were plenty of empty tables, but then spent over 15 minutes patiently waiting for a server to come take our order, they never showed up. However, we watch 2 or more parties get seated and within 5 minutes their server stopped by to take their order. That’s when we decided to walk out and I informed the hostess who just game me a blank stare and said I’m sorry. Not once did she offer to get us a manager and or make it up to us, I wasn’t looking for anything free, all I was looking for was good service and good food. I will never come to this place again and will definitely tell my friends not to eat here.

I generally avoid restaurants that center around upscale burgers because it's fairly easy to make a burger at home that will beat most restaurants. I did however end up getting a burger here, one topped with chili and sour cream and it was delightful. The Caesar salad on the side was exceptional, and buffalo wings were great - crispy on the outside although they could have used some extra heat. I went on a weekday so it was pretty empty but I they have a LOT of seating so I imagine it gets pretty packed later in the week.

Food was good, staff was awesome, ambience was a little on the bright side, for me, because I went in the evening. It's a cool spot to hang out at for beers & a bite near the Coronado Bay! I tried 3 things on the menu...a seared ahi Chinese chicken-style salad ( minus the chicken) & the dressing was heavenly! Had jumbo shrimp cocktail & that was yummy & jumbo! Ha! Also, had the pretzel appetizers which were good, but, would of liked a little more kick to the cheese dip. Going to work my way through the menu next time I go back! Overall, cool spot!

I had so much fun tonight. Great fish grilled tacos . August served me. He remembered what wine I drink and that I drink water with extra lemon and no ice. Wow that goes a long way! He's so friendly. The manager is so great and always welcomes me and makes me feel at home. The ladies at the bar, hostess and servers are always friendly too. I feel more than comfortable coming here alone. Love the berry nectarines salad too add chicken or ahi. This is my new "cheers bar"

I go crazy for burgers, and on a recent group lunch visit was excited to try this place. It was not busy at all and I loved the open and airy vibe of Nicky’s. Given the emptiness of this joint I had thought we would get great service...yeah no. We had two tables of 12 and it became clear quickly one table was getting great service and my table was a memory for our server after taking orders. While one table got their food quickly (and they arrived a good ten minutes after ours) our table got food in three waves which was awkward...and not short waves. The food - I got the shrimp wrap with tots and it was very good. Others said their food was solid except the soft pretzel appetizer which tasted as though it was a few decades old. I may go back to try this place again, given our group size may have driven our less than impressive visit.
