My first visit in a Japanese restaurant in the US - an interesting experience. We were a group of four, ordering a bunch of main dishes and starters. My personal highlight: The surprisingly good complimentary green tea, and the ground chicken with rice in a clay pot. The service was friendly, fast, and overall excellent. They asked us patiently for any special wishes or allergies, and advised us on dairy- and shellfish-free dishes. Definitely worth a visit!

Gochi is always a good place to grab some creative and fun small plates. The atmosphere is also very nice. It is darker and it sets a certain kind of mood. There are seats where you sit after you take off your shoes. The portion sizes are smaller, so it is easy to run up an expensive bill. Always grab a drink to go along with your meals. It definitely pairs well. Hot sake is recommended.

A very popular Japanese fusion restaurant with private/public tatami sittings as well as regular chairs. The lunch special is always a hit and dinner menu features some amazing bites. The pizza has a surprise twist and the Yellow Tail carpaccio has the perfect citrus zing. The place is favored by many locals so come early to avoid crowds.

Really cool place in a unassuming strip mall. The small plates style of eating is nice for sharing. The service was good and the Japanese style seating was a fun twist.

A lovely Japanese restaurant. The hot pot was delicious. Large selection of Sake. Friendly service. I loved the fact, that you have to take of your shoes and sit on pillows.
