This place had great ambience. The service was quick and the food tasty. Extensive menu! Would be back to try some other items. Definitely a thumbs up! Update: On our second visit, we ordered some new dishes. Very unfortunate to say that we found hair in our food and had to stop eating. The staff apologized but not sure if I'd go back!

If you order salt-fish rice, it'll be salty; if the item on the menu includes a little Spicy-icon, it'll be spicy. I don't know enough about cuisine Malay to write on its authenticity; I do, though, know tender & tasty rice with identifiable & delicious inclusions, and Banana Island serves it! Entrées of generous portions, beverages, beer, and wine. Ada & Samantha keep this island-ship aright, and the staff wants you to return & return again! If you're sensitive to hot/spicy, avoid those red icons, or ask whether a particular item may be had Mild. Go with family/friends, enjoy So Many Items!

I hadn't had a chance to try any Singaporean or Malaysian cuisine in my life. This place offers so many food options (including Thai and Cantonese cuisine). The restaurant was mostly occupied by Asian and South East Asian dinners, which was a good sign for an authentic dinning place.

Went here craving Singaporean Malay cuisine. Was disappointed as it didn't hit the spot but for the casual diner, it might have been okay. Seemed popular and crowded. Roti was meh, chendol was okay but nothing to write home about. Everything was a bit off, kind of like trying to eat good Mexican food in Asia, it's just a bit off and doesn't do it.
