We went solely to try the Impossible burger, and noticed it was also happy hour. We sat at a booth an arms reach from the bar, but were told we wouldn't be able to get any of the happy hour deals unless we ate at the bar. Made no sense, but okay. We ordered one impossible burgers fully dressed, and one plain. They delivered one fully dressed and one with just onions and sauce. We send it back and say this is incorrect, we'd like it plain. Not 2 minutes later the waiter brings back the same plate with the onions just picked off, sauce still soaked into the bun. We had to wait another 5 minutes before finally getting the manager and asking for a new one. Half-hearted apologies were made, and a new burger was delivered 15 minutes later, but no offers on comping the burger. Not impressed for a $40 meal.

Excellent food. Very responsive and attentive waiters. You do pay for what you get, so do expect some higher prices for the combination of food, service and atmosphere.

Food was good as always but the service was getting worse. We ordered starter, soup and main courses and after 20min of waiting, all of the presented at the same time. I asked for tissues paper because I caught a cold earlier this week. The waitress said they only have napkins and if I wanted tissue, ‘you can get it from bathroom’. Yeah, why don’t you ask me to cook my own food? Don’t think we will come back again.

Went for a Sunday afternoon lunch and glass of vino. Even with what seemed to be a pretty sizable wait staff, it took FOREVER for anyone to notice me sitting at a table - with no menu - and only did after I stood up and waved my hands at the passing wait staff, did someone say, "oh, you need help". Clueless. I ordered a cup of butternut squash soup and the bleu cheese salad and a nice glass of pinot: it took forever to get a glass of vino and subsequently place the order. Then 20+ minutes later my (COLD) soup and salad arrived at the same time... By the time I was served a hot soup, I was halfway through my salad... Food was good; however, not excellent (3 stars) and service, at best, two stars - and I'm being generous. I think this visit to Bistro 33 could could have been great experience if there had been more attention to detail.

Lovely cafe made in the place formerly housing the old city hall in quaint, but growing, Davis, California. Everything on the menu was impressive, but I caved in for the lemon ricotta pancakes served at Sunday brunch. They didn't disappoint!
