Dear Charlie, The purpose of this letter is to express my shock and dismay regarding the misleading score for your restaurant on Yelp. More specifically, let me explain that I found several things to be atrocious. By way of example (and to be clear - mere words don't do it justice): (1) The wait staff was virtually non-existent. We were ignored throughout our stay. We received one drink in approximately an hour and a half. And no refills. (2) We waited an hour and a half for our food. Actually, I stopped watching the clock after an hour and a half. We actually waited much longer. (3) The restaurant allegedly "ran out of chips." I have never been to a Mexican restaurant that has run out of nacho chips. (4) Pigeons stalked us from above throughout our meal. (5) Our food came out in waves (piecemeal). One of our group never received her meal. Twenty minutes later (after the rest of us were done), her meal arrived. We packed it to take with us. (6) The food was average at best. I should note that one waiter (Tony) was exceptional. Every time we actively considered leaving, Tony showed up and put us at ease. To be clear, my recommendation is that Tony should seek employment at a real Mexican restaurant. Frankly, even Del Taco or Taco Bell would be a step up from this nightmare. Best Mexican food I’ve ever had by far. Everything I’ve order is always so full of flavor and prepared beautifully. I can’t say enough good things about loco Charlie’s. Very relaxing atmosphere. They have a cozy patio with umbrellas and lots of seating. The staff is very friendly and always smiling. I love loco Charlie!

I was prompted to eat here because of the reviews. Maybe it was an off night, but the food was very sub-par. The service was friendly and nice. There are so many better options in Palm Springs for good Mexican food. Cat City has even more options. I cannot understand why the ratings are so high with the food being so unremarkable

I have eaten here twice. First time I had the Pork Chile Verde combo plate. Without a doubt the freshest flavors and the best I have found in Palm Springs & Cathedral City. Second visit I had the special Pozole Guadalajara style. Very good as well. Wonderful patio and the service is outstanding. The kitchen works hard to stay ahead of the demand. It gets busy but order a drink, enjoy the fresh chips and salsa bar and sit back and wait for a delightful meal to arrive. I have seen but not had, one of their delectable looking margaritas that come from behind the counter. That is on the bucket list of drinks to have on a wonderful warm Sunday for brunch or lunch. Check out their menu. Located and easy to find in the Albertson's shopping area. You will enjoy you visit.
