We had an incredible experience tonight . We ordered two specials- the tomato avocado toast as well as the sea bass for two and the cauliflower steak. All of the food was phenomenal. Not only was it beautiful, but it tastes perfect. The service from Andrew was perfect. A wonderful gettingg, he gave us the specials and also recommended a few items. The only reason why I have 4 instead of 5 start was because the initial greeting from the hostess was not only very unfriendly but also very unapproachable. It was a girl in glasses with a striped black & white sweater. She says there were zero tables available and turned is away. Needless to say, I called in to see if I could make a reservation and there was one available at 715 (we got there at 7). So, we got sat and had a wonderful dinner, but it shouldn't have taken us getting turned away and having to call in for us to get say .

It's not that this place does a bad job. It's just that they don't pull off upscale. That's cool and all, but if you're out specifically for a special occasion, I think you should get what you pay for, and workshop can't deliver. Here are some reasons: - Don't bake really good looking bread and then run out of it before you can serve any. If you do, don't let one of your staff members be indigent about it. Offer something instead. Even the lousy pretzel sticks on the bar menu. Don't serve them later for a fee. - Don't have your waitress leave work in front of everyone. I don't really care, she was really nice, but it kills the mood. - Make all your food taste good. - Don't start cleaning the restaurant and turning off lights while people are still eating. If you don't want late diners, don't offer late reservations. In sum, care about your customers. Don't just put on a veneer of it. Go eat at a top L.A. restaurant and see how they do it. Copy that. Then you'll be great.

Was traveling for work and stopped here. The ambience was so cool and relaxing. Outdoor courtyard was cool with misters going and a breeze. Duck fat fries are delish and the farm salad was as well. Pricey but worth it.

We had a reservation prior to dinner time here and I realized it's really a serious place to have your dinner. I like their communal style long concrete table in the main hall that has tall ceiling. It reminds me of pictures of some monasteries but modern looking ones. Service was excellent, more than anything else. Food was awesome and enjoyable. We also had cocktails, which we enjoyed.

Great bar staff and drink suggestions. On the menu, they give you the history of the selected drinks for the night. The bar staff can also tell you the history of the drinks they are preparing. The bar is a great place to wait for your table. The atmosphere inside is intimate and lively. Outside is more common and distant. The service was good and the wait for the food was shorter than expected. I'd suggest getting a side, as your main will not come with much else. Maybe it was the dish (pork chop), but the was just okay (under-seasoned). The hanger steak was good. Not really what I expected for the hype and price. I left a bit disappointed.
