What a treat!!! I’m an aspiring chef from Chicago and both my husband and I love to eat and try ALL cuisines!!!!! Chicago is known for its great taste and both traditional and creative dishes, so you can imagine what happens to Chicagoans, when you take us out of our foodie world and into a smaller town/city... skepticism. I can’t speak highly enough of Amakara. So fresh, guaranteed to awaken your palette. Perfect balances of citrus, heat, crunch, and buttery fish. Kudos to great customer service and drinks as well!!! Tip of the hat...

Great place for awesome Sushi in East Bay! The place gets back packed quickly despite having a large dinning area. I have never been disappointed here, no matter what I have ordered. Do try Amakara specials. Plenty to choose from spicy and non-spicy section.

Great food, awesome service considering how busy they are. I suggest you either get there early or try and make a reservation. They get packed and for good reason.

Love the sushi here. My husband and I always try to sit at the bar and talk with the sushi chefs. They are really nice. Also, i highly recommend getting the albacore tuna with chili oil and garlic. SO GOOD!

The food was excellent. The California roll with fresh crab was the best I've ever had. This restaurant was better than many places in NYC.
