The Hawaiian Rib eye - a must try! Sweet goodness! And for not being a sushi spot, the Spicy Tuna "Osaka Style" is one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth. Drooling just thinking about these two items. Hubby and I love to eat in the booths near the bar. Great lighting and ambiance, you don't get the kindness from the open kitchen. Only negative, they don't serve Captain Morgan Rum... But that won't keep me away.

Houston's is a very modern, classy, upscale restaurant in Manhattan Beach. With a clean, laid bad feel, the waiters all are dressed professionally. The menu is not long and extensive and in this case showcases their best choices in each category of meat selections. We love the Rotisserie Chicken on Apricot sauce, but they have Ribs, Steak and Seafood choices. Each dish is well presented, sides are extra apart from the one included with your meal choice. The wine selection is made for wine-pairing with your meal, but you need to ask your waiter/waitress. If you order water with lemon, the water is not from the tap, it's filtered! The ambience is upscale, business professional, Cali-casual style. Afterall, it's not far from the surf and sand. A personal favorite when I am in town, since I used to be a local years ago. Enjoy and take in the whole experience while at Houston's. Oh, they also make fresh sushi rolls!

Completely horrible! I've never had service this bad anywhere. My chicken was very salty, my dinner salad arrived warm and undressed. I asked for chips for my artichoke dip and never got them. The waitress took my glass of ice tea for refill and never returned. My wife's Salmon dish arrived cold. After waiting approximately 20 minutes for the waitress to return, I asked for a manager. It got worse! The manager was very unapologetic and stated that she would "Warm" our food up! Unacceptable. She never addressed the cold or salty food, lousy service but asked if we wanted take-out containers for garbage. I wont be dining there again. Please think twice before dining at Houston's. There are way better restaurants in the area.

There is a big parking lot in a plaza. Good food portion for the price. Steak and ribs are delicious. Salads are good. They have a great selection of drink. It's a cute date spot as well. And finally the staff is welcoming and friendly.

The food is great, the place is great, but sometimes you'll run into a snobby or rude waiter or waitress. The most recent issue we had was with the manager. My mother in law doesn't speak English and was using her phone while my wife tried to order the food. The waitress got offended because she thought my mother in law was being rude trying to waste her time instead of ordering. So she complained to my mother in law, who had no clue what was going on, and made some groaning sound and stormed off. My wife was giving her full attention to the waitress the entire time, but before she could explain the manager showed up. My wife was again trying to explain, but the manager didn't want to hear it and was very dismissive and instead started lecturing her about manners and their cell phone use while ordering "policy". When my wife got upset she asked them to leave. Like I said, I love the food, but stuff like this has happened way more than I care to admit. Its not like we typically have problems with wait staff or something, there's just something about the company culture of this specific location that seems to be incompatible with us or something.
