The bun is THE BEST PART of my experience at Lobster West! It had just the right amount of seasoning & mayo. It was toasted perfectly & with the shrimp... it was so delicious. The clam chowder was pretty darn good, not much clam in it but overall still tasty. Also, the beans and coleslaw were pretty good as well, with just the perfect amount of sweetness. I was a little disappointed that my husband ordered chips and I was expecting freshly made potato chips but they were a small serving sized bag of potato chips. The serving sizes are a bit on the small side considering the price point. Overall, Lobster West is decent place. A little cozy on the inside, so we sat on the patio which was a nice experience. When in Encinitas, would I return? Probably not. Absolutely LOVED the shrimp roll, but wouldn’t come back for that alone, at its current price.

Delicious food— we had the lobster roll with the lobster bisque for lunch. Nice selection of local brews too. The restaurant is small & quaint, with an East Coast vibe— the interior resembles the small lobster shacks along the Maine coastline. Outside tables have nice shade or sunny spots to dine at. The lobster is shipped in from Maine but they do serve local lobster as well. This is by far, the best lobster-roll we’ve tasted outside of Maine. Great lunch. It may seem a bit pricy for a sandwich, but when you consider the price for Maine lobster, it’s a bargain. Service was warm & friendly. Owner was there to greet customers & share family-restaurant history.

Tasty near ocean lobster eatery. Cashier was friendly and gave recommendations. Ordered the lobster roll. Now yes, its hard to get a lobster roll wrong as far as flavour, so next is the cost to the weight of meat. Cost was normal for a lobster roll and lobster portions were great. Large chunky peices and plenty of it. We sat outside and enjoyed the patio, being checked on a few times, which I wasn't expecting since its a counter ordering place. Im not in Oceanside that often anymore, but when i am, i will be coming back.

The food was delicious! My favorite was the lobster bisque. It was the perfect amount of creamy tomato soup and lobster flavoring.
