Wonderful vegan restaurant. Amazing breakfasts and dinners. Super fresh produce (a lot grown on-site). Desserts are amazing, especially the pecan tart. Stayed at the Stanford Inn for a few days, ate both meals there, and never had to eat anything twice. Highly recommend if you go to or thru Mendocino. Dog friendly as well!

You MUST visit. Period. We stayed at the Stanford Inn for two nights, and ate at the Raven's for (3) meals. The presentation, fresh plant-based ingredients, and service were all outstanding! Thanks! Our meals included: - Burrito* – Scrambled tofu or braised tempeh, mixed garden vegetables, black beans, rice, Ravens’ enchilada sauce and our cashew cheese in a whole wheat tortilla. With salsa cruda and sour cream, choice of country potatoes, sweet potatoes or refried pinto beans 12.50 - Garden Scramble – Seasoned tofu or tempeh, braised seasonal garden vegetables. Choice of country potatoes, sweet potatoes or refried pinto beans 12.50 - Stanford Herbed Polenta – Our signature brunch entree – grilled herbed polenta with garden greens sautéed in our braising sauce. Served with our cashew “cream” sauce 15.00 - Chilaquiles – Tortilla chips sautéed in enchilada sauce, (optional: served with tofu-spinach scramble), Spanish rice and refried beans 13.00 - Kale Salad – Massaged kale with raisins, avocado verjus vinaigrette topped with cauliflower ceviche and avocado tartare 14 (GF, NF, OF) - Sea Palm & Root Vegetable Strudel – Local sea palm, carrots, onions in sesame phyllo, accompanied by a stir-fry of broccoli, shiitake, bell pepper and cashews. Served with Umeboshi and wasabi sauces 27 (NF option) - Ravens Tres Tacos – One of each taco with shredded lettuce, avocado, achiote rice, pinto beans, Ravens salsa 23 (GF; NF & OF option). All of our meals were so good that we bought the cookbook, and will attempt to make them at home. Wish us luck!

The experience, scenery, vibe and most of the food was enjoyable but it was a major, and I mean, MAJOR disappointment that the Raven’s Restaurant at the Stanford Inn would dare put “market price” on guacamole (who does that?) and then the bill comes and you find out its $20. This was an abnormally small portion to even justify half that price. What are these avocados laced with that justifies that? Are they gold laced? Contain truffles? Picked by Leonardo Dicaprio? I don’t care how sustainably picked they were, or organic which I’m all for, but not to charge $20 for barely a single person portion of guac and chips. Come on, seriously Raven’s Restaurant? I would eat there again when in Mendocino but would save my avocado and guacamole adventures for a real Mexican restaurant and transparently advertised pricing.

I've enjoyed the waffles pancakes french toast and stuffed crepes for breakfast. I also find the muffins and scones they create each day to be really tasty. I love this Resort however the dinners are starting to leave me less satiated. I'm not sure if is because the menu has not changed over the past 3 years or if the food always left a little to be desired in terms of flavor. I tend to enjoy vegan dinner menu 4 to 5 times a week, so I am familiar and have a pallet that appreciates vegan cuisine. I do have a lot of options living in the East Bay when it comes to vegan delicacies, so perhaps I am just being picky and that's the reason why I find dinner entrees and most savory breakfast options to be lacking in flavor.

You know, coming to Mendocino, I had no idea that the would food would be this low quality. For someone who is not a vegan, you have made it impossible for me to go vegan with this treacherous food. Apparently the ravioli was the best on the menu which I had. The tomato paste from the can cover the entire pasta and tasted like as if it was prepared in Safeway. The rest of my family's dishes were disappointing too! Between the 10 of us, cost $600 and I'm not even goddamn full! TOTAL RIPOFF
