If you are looking for a cozy restaurant with great food in Grass Valley, look no further than Kane's. The best way to describe the atmosphere is cozy meets upscale dining. You can choose to sit inside or outside, if the weather is nice. They even have a little area with a couch and love seating surrounding a gas fire pit outside. This restaurant is one that you want to bring your friends, have a few adult beverages, and enjoy your meal for a while. You will enjoy your meal! The menu has a lot to offer. From burgers to pizza to veal parmesan. The appetizers are equally amazing. The service was excellent! This was our fourth visit and we have never had a bad experience.

Kane's Is a lovely venue in down town Grass Valley. John Kane had the creative talent to design, build and operate the new restaurant. He served food that was wonderfully fresh, creative, original and delicious. His creation put a fire under an otherwise dying community. Sadly John was taken all to early and from that point his creative talent as a chef has been sorely missed. Today you can find little of that talented chef with the huge personality. Now serves over priced mediocre food that's over priced. I miss John Kane as does the community.

Had been there off and on when first opened. Good one time then bad the next. Now with new management it has been great the last 4 times. Head bartender is a hoot

I like the atmosphere over all, some food is good but some seems poor quality. They are very accommodating to your special needs which I appreciate. On Street parking and public parking across the street, in a tourist area.

My wife and I walked in to Kanes at around 1:30 on a Saturday afternoon. The man behind the bar asked if we were there for lunch. We said yes, and asked if we could sit at the bar. He tossed two menus down and walked away without saying another word. We never saw him again. The place was not packed, just the opposite in fact. We waited for 10 minutes, hoping to get his attention. When he did walk back to the bar he stood at the far end from us looking at some papers. We waited for about 10 more minutes, thinking he would at least take a drink order, some water perhaps, something. Nope. He turned his back on us and kept fussing at the other end of the bar. We walked out and went to the South Pine Cafe. It was packed! Had a great lunch. The service was not great, but at least it was service!
