This is what I think of when I think of a diner. Good food! Just like my own home cooking. So good in fact, it's a very busy and popular place. The service is brisk, but friendly and professional. Probably why it's Tad crowded. But the wait isn't too long. And the food is definitely well worth the wait. When I'm in town, I am definitely going to be visiting here again! And absolutely recommended yes!

I always eat at Paulette's whenever we're in Grass Valley. The food is consistent. They cook the hashbrowns here so they are crusty on the outside but soft on the inside - just right. And they actually know how to make and butter toast. Seems simple but few places seem to manage it. The servers here have been there for years. Paulette must be a good person to work for. I like this place.

Paulette's is hands down our favorite restaurant in Grass Valley CA! Ever since we moved to GV back in 2001, we dine at there at least 3 times a month lol! The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is phenomenal! The restaurant used to be a bank, so a private room in the back is actually a vault! Many of my birthdays and subsequent other festive occasions have taken place in that room. In a nutshell, if you want home cooked meals that never quit, frequent this restaurant.

The food here is decent, many options. In our opinion, the service has not been great, though others have reviewed to the contrary. We didn't find them rude or anything, they were actually quite nice, but on multiple occasions, we experienced long waits between being seated and being able to order, and a lack of attentiveness overall. Long wait for a coffee or water refill. Check arrival was a 15 minute affair, after we asked for it by flagging someone down. My wife orders egg whites only, extra cooked, along with whatever else. They have come out mushy and undercooked every time and we always have to send them back. On one occasion, they even came back out undercooked yet again. I would say due to volume of other reviews praising the service here, our experiences are likely not the norm, which is why we came back so many times to try again, so take this review with a grain of salt. We probably will not be returning again.

Great food and service. Love daily specials. Don't forget to have some pie.
