I would love to give a 5 and last year I would have . . I have been raving about this place for a long time to many. I had the opportunity to introduce The Cork Tree to my husband tonight. Anyway, we started with a wonderful bartender. We did not catch his name but he was very nice. Unfortunately, when he left we were stuck with a guy named Ken who was arrogant and rude! He made a joke that he was going to throw the menu at me. What?? I did not provoke this. I just wanted a glass of wine and some food. He then proceeded to tell me that he was kidding as he was popping Altoids at the bar. Anyway, I was not amused.. My husband I also witnessed that he was off base with some of the servers who were working around him.. A totally different scene than when I was there previously. I will be back to the desert at the end of May. I was planning on bringing a group here. I must say the food was amazing (as usual) and the rest of the staff were really great. Ken was a bummer though! A complete turn off this evening.

Excellent choice for the nice. The ambience was great and the noise level was normal. The service was superb from the first encounter with the hostess until we left and greeted by the manager/owner (?). Shannon C. was very attentive to our needs and made some fine drink, food and dessert recommendations when asked. The Crab and Shrimp cakes were very tasty and proportioned. The French Onion soup was very good. The best I have had outside of France just edging out a favorite of mine from Montreal. They changed the bread and added another type of cheese. I had the pork shank. It was very well prepared and complimented well with Asparagus, Carrots and Mashed Potatoes. For dessert I had the Creme Brûlée trio. The Vanilla is what you expect, the Chocolate is different, but the Butterscotch is to die for. This was an excellent choice for the night and I will definitely come comeback my next time in Palm Desert.

Short menu, but superb selections. Top notch. Scrumptious food. Excellent atmosphere. Great bar. Nice outside Dinning patio also. Great wine selection. Can be busy on weekends, or even weekdays, so suggest reservation if you want to dine between 6 and 8 pm.

Ah, the holidays are when the restaurants are very busy. We took friends to celebrate a birthday. They were extremely helpful in arranging seating that was handicapped accessible. Once seated, they really pampered us and made sure that everything was perfect. The appetizers were amazing. The entres was perfectly prepared. Desert was excellent - even the birthday cake they surprised the birthday boy with. The prices were moderate but worth it. Can't wait to come back.

Service was good, had light dinner in the bar. Atmosphere was light, fun place, good value in bar menue, restaurants menue was a bit steeper.
