Finding a favorite Italian restaurant no longer in business, we looked for an area restaurant with good reviews for its Italian menu. What good fortune it was to choose Nonno's. The intimate atmosphere, the locals who were quite obviously frequent diners, the attentive service were but background to the meal. The attention to sauces, which reflected long preparation time and careful selection of ingredients, and the delectable pasta combined to result in an extraordinary meal. Nonno's is the go-to place for authentic Italian food in San Diego county.

Excellent food, quiet atmosphere. Tucked away in a strip mall along Baltimore Drive, this small restaurant could be overlooked. But it's size doesn't reflect the quality of the food. Anyone looking for a hidden gem would do well to check out Nonno's. And if you don't feel like dining out, call for take home dinner. We saw at least a dozen people pick up their orders while there. An added plus is the friendly, helpful staff. We'll be going back often.

This place is amazing. Food is top notch, service is usually quite fast and personalized. Owner is the chef and usually the server too. Anything and everything you order is going to be delicious. Generous portions and very good prices.

The seafood pizza is one of the best things not just pizza that I have ever had in my life. The staff is amazing and very professional, they genuinely care about the dishes they prepare. Military friendly.

Husband and I went for an early dinner. Lisa was gracious and quick to serve us. She greeted other patrons by name when they entered. We got a glass of red wine each—the Pinot noir and Merlot were both delicious. The chicken parmigiana looked really good and cheesy. The Spicy Shrimp Roma was divine—shrimp cooked just right, vodka like sauce was spicy and flavorful, the pasta was a black linguine and so delicious. Complementary garlic bread is fresh and garlicky. Nonno’s is clean and precious. We will be back.
