don't know why this place isn't better rated. We had a great dinner w excellent service! They have a seasonal menu w a variety of appetizers, pasta options, bigger entrees and a famous floorless chocolate cake (that they sold out of the night we went). Nice wine selection and interesting cocktail menu too. Overall everything was solid and we'd definitely go back.

The atmosphere at the Whitebark Restaurant & Lounge is very cozy. The fireplace, the open bar, and window seating. The food was tasty and the coffee was fresh and strong. A bit pricey but you are paying to eat at a hotel restaurant and the ambiance. The downfall is the extremely poor service. We waited to be approach to be seated until a line of customers formed and the woman behind us had to flag someone down. Once seated it took awhile for the server to come with menus. The food took a long time to come to the table and forget getting a second cup of coffee. We literally had to ask servers as they walked by our table. One server, in particular, had to have heard us but intentionally walked by. The couple who sat at the same time we did, had the manager come over so she could formally complain at how long it took to get her order and it was wrong. Could have been a poor crew this one day, I'll offer that. But my review stays at a very low 3.

Was pleasantly surprised how good this was! We came right at the tail-end of happy hour and ended up with way more food than necessary because the happy hour portions were huge. My mac'n'cheese and fried Brussels sprouts were just delicious. Everyone else loved their food too!

This restaurant is inside the Westin. I don't expect much from hotel restaurants, and this was at the expected level. My husband and I went in for their sushi special which they have every Monday. We got miso soup, some salmon sushi and a Minaret roll. They were all good enough but nothing special. The sushi were smaller than we're used to, and the roll was dryer. I'm used to rolls having so much sauce that I don't need to dip them into soy sauce, but this one needed to be dipped. For dessert, we had the creme brulee, which looked very good and had a nice top layer of the torched sugar, but the main custard part had the wrong texture, more like a flan I think. BTW, when we arrived, the hostess didn't ask us if we were there for the special and sat us at a table. We had to ask our waiter for sushi menus, and he grabbed them from the sushi bar which we were right next to, removing the sushi special inserts. I asked about the special, and we had to be moved to a different table to get the special. I don't really understand what was up with all that. It's very possible their non-Japanese dishes are much better, but I doubt I'll be coming back since there are so many great restaurants in the area.

The food is delicious. Their service is exceptional. As for ambiance, in a word: radiant. It's an overall classy spot, with a hip vibe. And, Jordan helped to create the perfect setting for our first meal as a married couple. Thank you.
