Great service with a nice ambiance. Fresh and tasty food. One of the best restaurants in Martinez for sure.

Not sure what happened to this place or if my friends and I have just gone here on bad days recently. We used to come here about once a month for lunch. The sandwiches were stuffed full of ingredients and the service was quick and orderly. The last few times we've gone, the sandwiches have been almost all bread, made sloppily, and just generally lacking in the quality we'd come to expect. The last time we went, we decided to eat there and discovered that the tables were sticky, and we were pestered by a half-dozen flies the entire time we were eating. Other issues that we'd overlooked in the past, but bear mentioning: One of my friends once asked what the soup of the day was and one of the ladies working there glowered at my friend and pointed at the little chalkboard on the counter without saying a word. It would have taken just as much energy for her to say what the soup of the day was. A few of the ladies working there seem to wish they were anywhere else but there. I understand it's tough to keep up with a busy lunch crowd, and I've worked numerous thankless customer service jobs in the past, but the open display of negativity is very discomfiting. We used to like this place a lot, but for some reason, it just seems to have fallen apart when we've gone the last few times. We all agreed that we wouldn't be making the trip again after the sticky tables, flies, and poor service. One note: the young man that usually works the cash register has ALWAYS been pleasant, polite, and helpful. If only the others working there could take a cue from him, it would be a much more pleasant experience - that, and if someone would wipe down the tables more frequently.

Arrived here about 20 minutes before closing. I was expecting A LOT more for a place with 4.9 Stars. First, the price is a bit steep for what you get. That leads me to my second point: the food itself. The sandwich soup lunch combo my father ordered had little to no Mustard, and no pickles. Tiny portions as well. The Lasagna I ordered looked good and tasted pretty decent, but it was tiny and not worth the steep price. In addition, it was a pretty lengthy amount of time from order to delivery. On the plus side, service was decent and the place is decent sized and cozy.

The staff are terrific. The food is great for lunch. Usually a sandwich or salad. The chicken caesar salad is way too garlicy for my taste though. I love the chinese chicken salad and Greek salad.
