Jade shrimp is a must order. kind of like the slippery shrimp at other places, but with spinach sauce . Chef has a very light touch. Also order the pork hump ( rump) it's thier specialty. inexpensive. fast service.

While this is probably one of the oldest Shanghai restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley, Lake Spring has gone through changed in ownership. It is now owned by native Cantonese speaking people. Of the four dishes ordered, the Xiao Lung Bao (steamed pork dumplings) was bar far the worst I've tasted. The baos were dry lacking the burst of pork soup bursting into your mouth upon your first bite! The shanghai ribs were a bit too sweet and lacked meat. The meatballs were delicate like a fluffy ball. The cumin lamb had very little lamb but plenty of onions, leeks and peppers taking over the plate. The decor hasn't changed in over 20 years but the service was a bit absent. Upon our arrival, we were their first customer and the staff was sitting in the back table talking extremely loud for at least 20 minutes - up until we placed our order.

Absolutely wonderful, the most delicious flavourful food. Beautiful atmosphere. The staff are the most welcoming, kind , friendly and caring people . They make you feel at home. Truly the best restaurant I have ever been to. I felt nourished Body and Spirit

The staff are friendly and the dishes are served hot and fresh. Ask them for the "lah jiao", it means hot sauce but there's is like a small spicy salad. They also bring out desert for free not sure about smaller grips but for big groups. Also, the pig's feet are vinegary and so good.
