Food - cooked perfectly and every ingredient had it's place and came out really well. My fiance got the Hickory Burger which was great. Liked it more than my plate but everything was good. Service - Our servers were there just enough. Not too much, not too little. And they were always kind and courteous. When we asked for recommendations from the menu the waitress really told us a lot about the dishes and what she liked/disliked about them. Ambiance - I personally hate noisy restaurants. Houston's has enough noise so that people can't hear your conversation but not so loud that you have to speak loudly so your table can hear you. The dim lighting makes you feel more comfortable and is great for a special dinner.

Very surprised that they offer fantastic sushi. Their menu for sushi is small but what they do make is phenomenal. My friends that "don't do fish" join me here for the sushi. It's that unique. Their signature dish is worth the drive: French Dip! Janna the manager runs a great place and it's a tribute to her friendliness and style that the spot is so comfortable. Steaks, burgers and desserts are great also. When the key lime pie is in season....gawd almighty! One of the best in town.

Had a good lunch here today! Wife had a perfectly seasoned and grilled California burger, and I had a delicious French dip sandwich. We both got fries which tasted like In n Out, but all of them were pretty small. The service was fast, and the beer was good. We shared a nice roasted coffee and lively key lime pie for dessert which was just tart enough with a dollop of fresh whipped cream on top. We liked the low lighting and comfortable leather seating, but some of the more uptempo jazz background music was a little intense. Overall good food and service though!

Great food, great service. Like the feeling of being in an oasis since it is sort of dark and cozy. Maybe don't like the noise level as much. We love just about every entree and sandwich they serve and absolutely go nuts for the apple walnut cobbler. A little more expensive than we usually prefer but it is great for an occasional treat as we travel through or near Pasadena.

My sister and brother in law discovered this place by accident through a gift card and the rest is history. They immediately fell in love with the place and finally brought me here. And the rest was also history. I love it. It has got to be one of my favorite restaurants in LA. I love the ambiance and the service. The staff never ceases to impress me with their friendliness and knowledge of the entire menu. Staff members around the country are usually really friendly but these guys are really on top. For the food, nothing beats my medium rare steak cooked to perfection with the smoothest mashed potatoes. Of course who wouldn't love their grilled artichokes? The pork chop is so succulent as well. Frankly, I think everything on the menu is good. I highly recommend this place!
