Honestly I think this place is over rated. It seems as if it's always crowded or maybe it's just understaffed. Food is OK but nothing special. They do have the cheapest steaks in town though. The service has been OK at best and just bad at worst. I'll usually avoid this place but it seems popular as I'm invited there a couple times a year it seems.

Where else can you get a T-Bone steak, baked potato, salad and bread for $13.99?? This place has been a staple in P-Ville since the 70's. It has an upstairs and downstairs. The name "The Cellar" came about because that's where it started. In the cellar. "The Mint" was a bar above The Cellar. When The Mint went out of business in the 90's , a couple months later The Cellar expanded. On weekends they still open up the original Cellar downstairs because this place gets that packed. I can still remember "Bud", the original owner packing a .38 on his hip in plain sight on Saturday nights years ago. This place has everything you could think of ordering.

I ordered the calamari. The portion was very small and very overcooked. The waitress did not come and check on our table. I had to stop her in order to get service. It took twenty minutes before she even took our drink order and there was only two other tables. Plus, as we were walking up, the two busboys were outside throwing water balloons and got my daughter wet. I'll never eat there again.

Worst place I've ever eaten!!! The service was horrible and servers were very rude, I had to ask 3 xs for water and a menu. The food was awful, school cafeteria serves better food. They must cater to only regulars, when I was there all the servers and old regulars kept staring at me! To top it off they placed me by the front window on a hot summer day and I was practically cooking. I Hate that place and will never go again, throwing away $$$ is better than spending it here!!! 😡

We didn't get toasted bread with our meal until after we finished eating, bread was cold an not toasted. This is the 2nd time in a row this has happened. We asked for medium rare for our steaks and got rare medium.
