It had been 40 yrs, since 1977, when I was yanked from "The Hill" at age 14. That much time since I'd had truly great pizza. The Appetizer is one of THE great, hidden treasures of Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274.

The pastrami sandwich lived up to its raving reviews. Very small space and a bit hard to find if you don't already know where you're going. The smell of freshly baked pizza led me straight to it.

Quaint, cozy and fast service. Everything is great, the food, the staff and location. The format is European familiar with the little differences that blend the local community and a relaxed Italian charm with an obvious authenticity.

It's a small no frills restaurant, but the food makes up for it. I had the meatball sandwich and my wife had the chicken parmagiana. Both were had a good flavor, albeit, a very similar flavor. I had the chance to taste a vegetarian pasta and the sauce was good. The garlic bread was okay. It was more buttery than anything. There's also a good selection of drinks including Italian beers.

I am a big eater! Of course being a 6 foot man, I can take a lot down. Just because I love to eat, doesn't mean I will eat anything. I have good taste because I know what real good food tastes like. I came here for the first time with my wife yesterday and I even joined yelp for it. My wife loves to yelp and talked me into starting up so I thought this was the perfect place to review. I had the lasagna and it was one of the best ones I have had. I love hefty portions and you definitely will not be able to finish this in all one sitting although I got pretty close. The sauce is very rich and has some great flavors and the meat is seasoned well. My favorite part would have to be the cheese. I'm not sure which ones they use but they work very well with the lasagna. I want to go out and try something else so if anyone else has any suggestions, I would be more than happy to hear them.
