Amazing restaurant and lounge by the beach! Great music on Friday nights by local DJ, DJ Lunacy and friends. Starting 2/18 a new event, Beats By The Beach, starts off. The new owners have done an amazing job, bringing top talet from The Venice Whaler over to change things up. If you want great food come for a visit. If you want a great Friday evening, come visit. If you want an amazing brunch, come starting Sundays.

I can't believe how good the food at Ma'Kai was last night. They revamped the menu and everything we ordered was delicious. We'll be making this one of our regular spots in Santa Monica and are recommending it to everyone. If you're wondering if you should check it out, just do it. The food is amazing. No exaggeration, the fish tacos were the best we've ever had

First I tried to order a Mule from their cocktail menu, after 15 minutes I was informed they are out of ginger beer. We ordered a coffee and burger and coffee never came but table next to us was served coffee. There was only 5 tables including us and by the time the waitress came back around to us we told her we no longer want the coffee. The bacon cheese burger we ordered it medium, and it came out cold and raw. We showed the guy bussing the tables and he took it back for us, then came back with bacon because he said they forgot to include it, we didn’t even notice that yet. The guy bussing the table paid more attention to us than our own waitress. This place is over priced, food and service is terrible. Be warned.
