Absolutely horrible service. We waited well over 30 minutes for our sushi order, yet many tables were empty. The server was anything but friendly. I never saw her smile once and she never even offered a hint of an apology when I asked her where our order was, while everyone else was getting their dinner. The sushi was not fresh and when it comes to sushi, fresh is THE factor. The yellow tail in particular was mushy. I even found a bone (you read that right) in my yellow tail roll. Dinner for 3 of us was $90. If you're going to charge that amount, you'd better have decent quality fish. Don't even think of going to this place. If I could give negative stars, I would.

My family has been eating here for a very long time. The food is delicious, mostly because the quality of the ingredients is very high. This is the only place where I get beef teriyaki because the meat they use is excellent. Their miso soup is also the best I have ever had and I love their salad dressing (a decadent mayonnaise based dressing). When people visit us, this is where we take them.

Our favorite birthday dinner spot - good sushi, Japanese standard dishes, courteous service. Wish they still stocked the plum wine they used to have - now when you ask for plum wine, you get sherry - good, but not the same.

All around solid Japanese cuisine, but I come here exclusively for the sukiyaki and yosenabi (seafood hot pot best description) here. The yosenabi in particular is not to be missed.

Honest, unpretentious, modestly priced sushi. My favourite restaurant in the world for 30 years. Always go when in SoCal (unless it's Monday [closed]) Love the Scallop handrolls and Nesei style potato salad. Tatami room available. Added a bar in waiting area at some point. Parking in rear is competitive and tight. A South Pas icon! Yumi yumi yumi!
