My friend and went for wine and appetizer. We shared the Antipasto for 2. It was pretty good, however we didn't realize the plate had hot peppers. 5 minutes of hotness later we had a good laugh about it. The atmosphere and staff were nice. I want to go back and try the prime rib special. Oh and the wine was good too.

We had terrible service. There were two waitresses covering a large party, one was spectacular she was nice and attentive, the other was angry and dismissive. Upon the entire group sitting down she quickly asked if we were ready to order, we were not. She did not return for almost an hour. When she returned she did not ask if anyone needed refills if we would like to start with apps just taking our order. In the mean time we saw our waitress looking frustrated while she served other tables frequently scoffing, sighing and making generally unhappy noises as she past us. When the food came she managed to put her finger in one of our party’s food. She also claimed to have not taken an order of a young lady whom she did. She then argued with someone who ordered a modification on their meal that the restaurant couldn’t do that despite the other waitress taking the order saying it could be done. She never asked if we wanted dessert. The manager was alerted and provided a gift card, which i don’t know if we would use to come back. Finally, this morning talking to my family several of our credit cards were overcharged. Needless to say we will not be returning.

We went to First & Last Middeltown, CT for the Mother’s Day brunch today 5/13/18, well what a disappointment, we were stuck in the back “so called” banquet room with absolutely no atmosphere. The food was below par and @ $33 per person + drinks was not worth it at all! Don’t get me wrong, I have no problem even paying $50 per if good, but this wasn’t even close or worth $20 per person. Food was scarcely put in the serving trays along with the dishes dirty to put your food in coming out of the kitchen! Had to look several times for serving utensils so we could get the food! The lamb and flank steak were tough, they also served pasta, salad & 2 inch pieces of stuffed sole! We had to sit on cheap foldable chairs which I fell back to the floor on when getting up because the chair was so cheap it collapsed. When we first sat down I was immediately disappointed that we were in such a bland room, we should have left then! Our bill came to almost $300 and wasn’t worth even 1/2 of that. We go out to eat quite often and haven’t been this dissatisfied in a very long time! My family and I will never go there again! We have eaten here in the past and food has always been inconsistent! We decided to give it another chance, what a mistake. Now I know why it’s named First & Last, it’s not the First time we been here, but NOW I can assure you it will be our Last!

Owner and manager were quite engaging and entertaining. The establishment was way better than the last time I visited around one and a half years ago (previous management). I'm definitely going back again soon.
