I got a variety of things because this was my first time there. I got Large veggies plate with Mac and cheese, yams, and black eye peas and rice, although the latter is sold separately I was given it as one, counting as one of my double portions this of course bumped up this review since the customer service only got better. The plate was priced under 11$. I also got a side of meat, curry chicken under 5$ I got a peach cobbler and a very big piece of lemon pound cake each costing under 5$. So as you can tell the prices are great. Now when I walked in the food didn't look like I grow up so I was scared and to top it off the meat choices wasn't soul to me since there was nothing fried but then I ate the food oh my the veggie plate was great the meat I could do without and the desserts where to sweet for me. I was also able to taste the sweet potato pie and the banana pudding also to sweet but with that said this place gets an A+ for food and B+ for desserts.

I came here on a chance... its hidden in the back of bank street. You have to walk from the street to the building. The place is clean and trendy. The people are warm and welcoming. They allowed me try my selection before choosing. I went with pulled pork, mac and cheese, yams and cabbage. For dessert I picked up lemon pound cake and sweet potato pie for him. They did not fail me! The pulled pork was moist and seasoned perfectly. The mac and cheese was a cheesey perfection. The yams were sweet but not overly sweet. The cabbage was ok it could of used a touch more of seasoning. I was too full for dessert but will be sure to review at a later date

My go-to when I'm in Waterbury for lunch! It came highly recommended and it's no surprise why. Their food is always fresh and obvious a whole lot of heart was put into the creation of it. It's fantastic! I had the pulled pork, cabbage and corn pudding with a piece of dense, buttery pound cake for the road. Looking to try breakfast there soon!

Very good place for soul food, located in the downtown wtby exchange area.. Very clean and comfortable atmosphere. It's on the far right coming up from D&D's. Plus you can have food delivered through uber eats. That how I found out about this place. Highly recommend!!
