We recently moved to Hallandale B. My brother in law, a long time local, warned us about this particular restaurant. We didn't believe him, and paid dearly for our mistake. Without question, the most lame dining experience I ever remember. Cold reception, followed by an unfriendly and careless waiter who spent almost the entire time talking to his peers, and never bothered to periodically check on our table. Uninteresting, boring ambiance, featuring old school bland decor, vociferously screaming to be more contemporary and vivid. The food is BAD with upper case, and burlesque overpriced. Predominant crowd of golden age sweethearts, some of them barely able to walk on their own, but still with plenty of money to blow. Obviously the only ones who can be fooled into dining so bad and so expensive. They add an intrusive 20 % tip to every check, so rather than soothing an already brewing volcano, they put more fire into it. In a few words: Those who have common sense for dining out will definitely avoid this restaurant.

One of my foreign clients came for a closing, so I wanted to buy him and his wife a dinner. They gladly accepted, but insisted on going to Matteo's in Hallandale. I am very well aware of this particular restaurant, and told them it does not enjoy a positive reputation among local people. However they insisted, so I had no choice. Well, let me say they were completely shocked at how bad the food and service are. They admitted somebody had recommended this place to them, the reason why they insisted. I don't want to say publicly how much I wasted on this place but it was a considerable amount of money. It is quite unbelievable that a place is so deplorable and expensive.

Had a wonderful meal!! The food was fantastic and the service was excellent...Yael was amazing. We had 13 in our group and everyone LOVED THE DINNER. We have been eating at Matteo's for over 5 years...always a great experience!!

Our dining experience at this restaurant was very poor. Food is quite average and insipid, considering the high prices.The waiters just don't seem to be much concerned about earning their tip. Very bad decision to dine at Matteo's.

Calamitous dinner experience. How in the world do they mess up such a simple dish as linguine with clam sauce? Well, first I guess they forgot the use of fresh clams. Indeed, not a single clamshell was to be found in my dish. What little clam meat was there, came chopped up into tiny chunks and mixed with lots of garlic. This was definitely clam sauce from a can, they kind you can find on a supermarket rack covered with dust with a sale price of $0.99. And the sauce they apparently outsourced to said can. I had a horrible aftertaste with a strong abrupt flavor. The plentiful linguine noodles were barely dressed in this sauce, so the whole dish tasted a lot like boiled noodles under half a quart of cheap oil. Absolutely terrible and expensive restaurant.
