Quiet place with an unassuming cozy charm. Service was courteous. Portions were generous. Food was well prepared. The bill does add up, though. ~$30/plate for fish, with family style sides sold separately and a surcharge if you use a credit card.

What an excellent meal! Recently took my parents for dinner here since the new ownership. This has been our goto spot for years. Just as wonderful as all of our meals there in the past. Our waiter Walker was the best we have ever had! Knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing (which we find annoying at some of the other higher end restaurants). Very professional, but warm. A true asset to this establishment!!!

We ate at Sign of the Mermaid 🧜‍♀️ last night. It was my boyfriend & I. Our hosts where we stayed told us it was under new ownership. First, Our male server seemed distracted & strange. The woman waitress was great & she refilled our drinks which sat empty 15 minutes after being served our food! The French onion soup & bread for starters was very good so I gave it one star. I ordered the Lady Wellington & my boyfriend ordered one of the fish specials. It wasn’t what we expected but we thought it was different. After eating a few bites of my seafood “pastry” I bit into a piece that tasted like ammonia or cleaner! I couldn’t finish my meal. We told the male waiter but he mumbled something and cleared our table. We paid our $96 and left disappointed. We both were sick that night. Horrible experience! 😕

Our waiter graciously welcomed our group of 7 roudy women. Great entrees of seafood specials with a broad variety. My swordfish was excellent, not overdone and nicely seasoned. Don't ignore dessert! At least get one to share.

I have been wanting to try this cute/quaint place for 7 yrs. Finally got my chance. It was not busy, waited a few minutes to get seated, got our "flat" drinks promptly, our food seemed to take awhile, tho it was good the service was non-existent. Our waiter never came back, to see how we were doing which I wanted to relate about the drinks. We and the couple behind us finally had to go to the front to pay our bills as they just never came back. We noticed another couple at another table was also upset. So much for my 7 yr wait, disappointed and don't need to go back.
