I don't normally leave 1 star reviews....especially for a local business, but this was bad service and bad food. The only upside was the building in which the business resides. We should have known when we walked in the door and no one was there at lunch time. The musty mildew smell was the first thing we noticed, but we stayed hoping the food was good. The sweet tea tasted like day old instant tea. They were out of several menu items. The vegetables tasted like they were dumped from a can with no seasoning. The hamburger steak was so salty, it was inedible. The mac n cheese was horribly overcooked and mushy. This was NOT southern cooking....it was more like cafeteria food with a menu.

Several items were out on the menu on my visit which this was my first time...not too many people there when we came but food took a long time...after receiving my food it was delicious. I got the double.grilled cheese patty melt I believe. I also got an appetizer of fried green tomatoes that were cold when they came to the table but I didn't complain to the waitress. I'll be back though not sure if it was a bad day for the business but I was little disappointed because everything I tried to order was out.

If it wasn't for the good food and cool downtown building this would be a one. Absolutely terrible service. The menu has items marked as only available on certain days but that was completely off. They were out of the in items and had some out items. The server brought bread but only 6 plates for a party of 10. But she did put about 20 sets of silverware on the table. We had several out of water. I asked for more water and she brought me one and was off. Other costumers left when we were there because it took so long and still no food. BUT, the fried chicken and mac and cheese was pretty good.

This place has amazing food and great service. The atmosphere is really nice. I have been to several southern home cooking restaurants but this has been my favorite one . Also I suggest that everyone try the collard greens !! Lastly they have great prices !

The food is fantastic. I can't say enough about it. Great atmosphere, very clean, friendly staff.
