I had a tip to try out Makana Market and Deli in the Cooke street area that was recommended by a relative. It's pretty close to my home so I went yesterday to try out a few of the dishes because my daughter was accompanying me and we were both hungry. We tried the Venison stew, burger and chili. I never ate venison before and was a little apprehensive but I tried it and was so happy I did! It was tender without any gamey taste. My daughter agreed that we should also make a take out order. Even the drinks were refreshing. On top of that, the atmosphere was comfortable, clean, unique and the staff so friendly. Prices are so reasonable especially this time of the year .

I finally got around to visiting this place - it was closed for a while just when i heard about it. Ordered the Bison Burger on their lunch menu (missing the venison/chorizo burrito by 30 minutes **Breakfast ends at 1030**) and i wasn't disappointed. the patty was thin but it fit the bun well enough - considering the rarity of the ingredients I think the portion size was decent. What really counted was the taste. The balance was great - with no ingredient overpowering another. Can't wait to eat my way through the menu in the coming weeks
