This place is Amazing. The food here is really good-one of my favorite dishes is the Kung Pao Cauliflower. They have a great menu with lots of options to choose from. Great ambiance & friendly staff. If you are visiting Sandpoint this place is a MUST stop!

My wife and I hadn't been out for a date night since our 2nd son was born 4+ months ago. We couldn't have been happier with our choice. This was our first visit to Beet & Basil, but we'll definitely be back. We shared four small plates and it was without a doubt the most delicious meal we've had in this town in years.

This place is amazing. There's probably only 3 places in sandpoint that can compare to the caliber n quality of the food here. But no one can compete with their patio unless u want to drive out of town and pay double the price. The menu is eclectic n not usual burger wrap salad garbage you see at most restaurants these days. The staff is a lil unfocused but it's sandpoint and there isn't one place in town that knows the proper steps of service. Highly recommend especially with patio/fall season right around the corner. Ask for the private patio table down the bank

I do not like giving bad reviews Mostly because I love this town and most of the people in it, but when it is nessasary it must be done. So my expierence at the Beet and Basil in Sandpoint. Being a resident of Sandpoint I am a big believer in staying local and help to support our local businesses. Looking for something a little different than all the other wonderful places in Sandpoint, this night I thought I would visit a place I had not been to yet as they just opened the location this year and I have not had a chance to get in there yet and it looked really nice. The atomoshere is great and outdoor seating is very pleasant. However the staff and service was the worst I had seen in any place here in sandpoint. As I walk through the door I only see one table on the inside with customers and about 5 staff standing around. Granted it was a nice evening and the rest of the customers were outside. As I stood there waiting for someone or the hostess who was no where around for several minutes. Not one person greeted me or said someone will be right with you. Absoluitly nothing. They all just stood there stairing at me in awe like oh my we have a real customer what do we do. I finally had to ask do we just seat ourselves. At that point someone finally said "umm no sir someone will be right with you." And then I waited for several more minutes before getting a seat, watching the staff just sit around and BS with eachother. I finally got a seat and a glass of water with my menus. With absoluty no talking or words exchanged even after I said thank you. No here you go your waitress will be with you shortly, can get I you anything else while you wait, nothing. I had to ask for a lemon for my water as the girl tried to walk away. When that was brought out the guy slid in on the side of the table as he passed by like he was trying to be sneaky about it. Not a here you go or nothing. Just a OMG I hope he didn't see me and off he went. As I began to wait and observe everything going on I noticed that if you are a friend of the staff you get very prompt service. The wait staff spent serveral monents talking with there customer friends. Clearing plates getting thier bill seating new friends and helping them with the same prompt service. While they were kind of busy they still had way more staff on than any other place in town and should have been able to offer prompt service to all customers not just the ones of thier choice. After drinking all my water (and I was sipping) and then waiting for at least a refill as they kept filling everyone of thier friends glasses I figured they would get to me too. But NO... I kept waiting as I was commited into this by about a half hour now almost 40 minutes. As I sat for a little while longer and watch the other 3 tables of thier friends come in. I also watched as they promptly got them drinks more drinks more water and take thier orders as I sat there with and empty glass of water and gettting hungrier by the moment. I finally could not take it any more I had to get up and go to one of the many other fantastic restaurants with exceptional service that we have here in town. And in the same amount of time with 1/10 the staff available they had me seated, order taken, ate my food, got my bill and was out of there. So there you go it appears that if you are a friend of the staff then you can get prompt service here but if your not. Do not expect to get anything at all but a glass of water and maybe a lemon. I am beginning to wonder if I just got lucky one. There is one other place in town that is a friends only place but at least they reconize the other customers as well, not very friendly like but at least they do. I couldn't tell you if the food is any good cause they only serve thier friends appearantly.. Very piss poor service.. And to be serious for a moment this place is kinda hard to get to as there is no parking close to it. So I hope they have some very dedicated friends to help keep them afloat.
